The initial conversation Towards the end of 2023 we were approached by a large events management company who needed our help on a multi-national conference. We were asked to capture the event itself, plus all presentations throughout the day and then create informative and promotional video content. The conference spanned across four cities, London, Frankfurt, Paris and Rotterdam. The aim After providing a quote just under their budget we were awarded the project and started planning the job. The aim was to create multiple promotional videos that would highlight each area of the conference and these videos would be used to help attract additional attendees to future events. Some of the key elements of these videos focused around capturing attendees networking, exploring client products and also showcasing the incredible venues from the ground and air. Vox pops (short, in the moment interviews) were also key to these videos. The plan would be to capture attendees to show firsthand how informative and worthwhile the events are to future potential customers. We also captured vox pops with sponsors and exhibitors to demonstrate the benefits of bringing your brand to the event. The other video requirement was to capture all 120 presentations, keynotes and lock notes across the events. These would be used on the clients platform to send out to everyone attending the event should they wish to review or show to other team members. They could watch other presentations they missed which took place in a different city. Once the speaker was captured every video needed to have animated assets, video intros, music and sync’d up presentation slides added. The challenges we overcome We are a small but experienced team of videographers, editors, drone pilots and more which means that 99% of our projects are all done in house. As this project had a lot to capture we needed to bring in some additional videographers. Over the decade that Yellow Lizard Media has been operating we have met some skilful camera operators all over the country that we were confident to bring on board. Equipment requirements was another challenge we had to fulfil. Although we own an extensive range of cameras and cinematic equipment we still needed more as we would be capturing 6 separate areas simultaneously. Due to this we purchased additional 4K slow-mo cameras, lenses, audio equipment and more to ensure we could capture everything on the day and had backup on standby to ensure a smooth shoot. The results Most importantly the client was very happy with the videos supplied. There were little to no changes across the 125+ videos. All videos were completed within the one week deadline provided and also under their budget. We learnt a lot during this project by taking on tasks that were not typical of our usual shoots, and these skills will transfer to future projects. This experience, combined with the increased range of cameras and equipment means we are able to take on larger scale events, conferences and forums in the future. If you are planning or organising any events or conferences please contact Yellow Lizard Media to see how we can work with you and create the video content you require.

What are the benefits of drone videography? There are many techniques and equipment we use that keeps the video content we produce engaging and cinematic but there is one that stands (or should we say flies) above the rest, aerial shots from a drone. By flying one of our 4K drones we can show a birds eye view of the subject matter from heights of up to 400 feet. This not only provides cinematic viewing that is otherwise unachievable but also allows the viewer a chance to see massive areas that handheld cameras would take far too long to demonstrate. You can use these shots to capture viewers attention on social media platform or on website banners. Drone filming has become a key part of video projects in the construction industry as it can not only show large-scale projects in one frame but also can get into areas that are not accessible on foot. Our drones are small and light allowing them to be flown in a wide range of locations. What other uses of drone videography are there? Aerial surveying is a service that be extremely beneficial to companies in the construction industry or to anyone with a large or tall premises. An aerial survey can be used access hard to reach areas of a location. This can be to find problems or just to check that everything is as it should be. A typical way to normally achieve this would be by erecting scaffolding but this can be very costly, not only would an aerial survey save money by not having to organise and set up the scaffolding but it would also save a lot of time. We can be on site within a matter of days or even in some situations, the same day. It also keeps everyone on the ground providing a layer of safety. We will bring monitors with us so you can watch in realtime what the drone can see and can guide us to the required locations, but simultaneously we will be recording in 4K. Bring in the experts We have the skills, equipment and insurance to capture the aerial videography you need. We have been flying drones over many years and have two in house that can capture 4K video content. Best of all our drones, like all of our equipment, are included in our shoots meaning there are no extra charges to you when including aerial videography to your project Contacts us to find out more information or to discuss a project with us.

Marketing is a trial-and-error practice designed to find the best ways to engage with your audiences and make your customers loyal. If you, as a brand or content creator, are looking to increase your reach and make people remember your product, a video production might be just what you need. In this article, we’ll teach you how to sell your product in 30 seconds successfully. Why 30 Seconds? Speaking on marketing terms, people’s attention span is super short. Luckily, you’ll get just 3 to 5 seconds to get someone’s attention and make them want to watch the rest of what you have to say. If your content is interesting, you can get up to 30 seconds to provide concise, attractive information and leave them wanting to know more about your brand. Plan according to your platform The very first step to sell your product correctly on a film production is to plan according to the platform (or platforms) you’ll be using. Remember that, nowadays, social media is packed with content, so you need to find a way to stand out. Be very careful with the dimensions of your video, the quality of the recording or animation, and think of the colors that might be more attractive on the screen. Hook the audience quickly Once your video has started, remember you have limited seconds to grab people’s attention. You need to have a strong visual and auditory hook, something that almost instantly makes them stop scrolling and take a closer look. You might start with a loud image, maybe some catchy titles, or maybe with a the product itself, whatever sparks more interest. State your customer’s need Just as if you were doing an elevator pitch, your video production company should start going straight to the point. Communicate on a deep and personal level to our viewers and let them know you’re aware of what their needs are. Let them know you understand their frustrations/fears/desired. You can even slightly tickle their insecurities, that’s ok, because later on you’ll offer a solution for them. Explain your solution This is the part of the video were you should make the magic happen. Because you’re not a company like any other, and you’re not here to offer a solution for your potential customer. You’re here to offer the ultimate solution, the thing that no one else can offer them or no one else gets done as right as you. Give brief testimony Any video company will tell you that things are way more believable when you hear them from another customer. Find loyal customers who are willing to tell the world how much they love your product, this will elevate confidence in viewers. If possible, also provide third-party evidence of your brand’s benefits, such as numbers or graphics. Don’t forget the call-to-action Marketing is all about educating and guiding your target audience into what you want or expect from them so they also feel satisfied and taken care of. Any good video content needs to include a call-to-action that states clearly what you want people to do. It can be a “book your visit”, “order now”, “call us today”, “like our page”, etc. Now that you’re ready to make great sales using video marketing, it’s time to book the best St Albans, Hertfordshire video production company and get started!

They embrace technology. For an industry that, typically, charges by the hour – technology that reduces human input has not always been welcomed by the sector. This is not their view. They have invested heavily in technology from contract automation to contracts management to proof reading software to training platforms. Why do audiences like slow-motion videos We could simply say that slow-motion videos are attractive and people like to see them. But in fact, there’s something scientific about this video content format that makes you not blink so you don’t miss a detail. Our human eyes (and basically our brains) are designed to absorb information just the way we usually see it. So when you suddenly set your eyes on something that looks out of the ordinary (i.e. an object or person moving in a very slow manner), your brain needs a few seconds to process what it’s seeing in order to find a logical solution. When this happens, all of your attention is set on the slow-motion video. Imagine the benefits of having someone’s full attention to show them your product! Benefits of using slow-motion for advertising Sure, we’ve all seen intense slow-motion scenes in an action movie, or even a very melancholic sequence in a sad video, but slow-motion film productions can also be used in advertising. Still, need a bit of convincing? Here are some of the most notable benefits of using slow-motion to promote your product or service. They create more awareness As we mentioned before, a slow-motion video will catch people’s attention much better than a regular-speed video. Once you get your audience’s attention, it’s likely that they’ll be much more aware of every little detail. A viewer watching a slow-motion video will be able to dive into the experience your video company creates with breathtaking images and a deep song. Stronger emotions Another positive outcome of creating a slow-motion video for your product is that it can instantly have more powerful emotions towards what they’re seeing. Most of the time the feeling is positive, and this sensation will connect inside their brains, making them remember your brand for longer. Another interesting point is that, when watching slow-motion videos, people feel like time goes by faster. It makes everything stand out This might be one of the most important benefits of hiring a video production company to make a slow-motion video. When you have a physical product, you want audiences to get to know it just as if they were seeing it in person. A slow-motion video can go in as close as you want to let people see every inch and every corner of your product, showcasing colour and texture with just the right lighting. Slow-motion videos have the ability to elevate your brand’s authority and make your service or product look elegant and professional. We have worked with Buglar group on a variety of projects around Hertfordshire including Hemel Hempstead and St Albans, to showcase both completed builds to potential buyers and builds in progress to demonstrate how the projects unfolded. We were approached this year by them for a very different project. They wanted to survey a very tall building in London to see different areas including the roof. Typically this would be done by putting up scaffolding over a period of time and slowly observe each section of the building. Not only will this take a long time to do so but it would also be very costly. By bringing in a video production company we took a different approach and used one of our 4K drones to quickly and safely provide a building inspection. We had a live feed streaming on a laptop on the ground allowing the Buglar team to watch in real time and make the notes required. This not just saved them a lot of money but allowed the team to take a look at the building as soon as was required rather than having to wait. Not only that but we also captured all of the video content and provided them with the footage so that they could send this onto the relevant people if any issues or questions had arose. All footage was supplied in 4K giving great detail to the image and allowing them to zoom into any photo or video if required. In short aerial surveys can be an extremely useful and cost-effective way for any construction based company. With multiple drones to hand we can almost always be on hand to any film project required. We have the correct licenses and insurance to fly our drones and have had many years experience flying. Aerial video inspections don’t just have to be for businesses in the construction industry. Using a drone can be a much safer way to view hard to reach areas such as roofs or areas with large slopes or uneven ground. By getting in an experienced drone operator from a local video production company you could save yourself time, money and risk of injury.

Shooting a static video can produce a very dull or amateur looking production, but by adding shots caught on electronic gimbals or sliders can really give some life to your production and also allows you to be in and amongst the action at events, conferences or product demonstrations. So why not take this one step further and add aerial shots, also knows as drone shots or birds eye view to your video production. To fly a drone commercially there are rules and laws when flown at a certain destination, height or drone weight but this blog won’t be touching on that. That being said once the drone operator has the correct license and the correct drone the shots that are captured are second to none. There is a wide range of uses for drone videography when used to promote a business or event and this blog will touch on some of them. When holding an event outside it can be hard to capture the real scale of everything going on. Even with the use of electronic stabilisers walking through the event it may be hard to show, that’s when a drone will really come in handy. capable of raising up hundreds of feet into the sky you would be able to see the real size of the event and when set in a beautiful location it really emphasises how incredible the event looks. Also being able to swoop from side to side would allow the viewer to see an exciting and cinematic view of your event. For the same reasons if your business is based outside such as sporting, leisure or team building activities a drone can really show off what you can provide to your customers. Although drones are capable of reaching heights that we cannot, you do not have to go outside to capture a worthwhile drone shot. This is where drone videography can come in for the manufacturing industries. Shooting inside of a warehouse or manufacturing workspace can give a very smooth cinematic look to your grounds as the drone glides around from area to area capturing shots that would be impossible on a handheld camera. Although not overly high, looking down on machinery at work gives the viewer a look at objects from a view that would normally not be possible. These are the shots that will grab your viewers attention and make a potentially dull subject becoming engaging. Another great use where drone filming comes into play is for the construction industry. Being able to capture aerial shots of pipework being craned into a building, following delivery or dump trucks bringing raw materials on site or even just your staff hard at work to the zoom out and show the big picture of what s being created are all great ways to again make a potentially dull shot become exciting to the viewer. Another creative way to make use of the drones potential for a construction based project would be a before and after shot showing the grounds before the build started followed by the completed project, no matter how small the build is, this is guaranteed to put a smile on the viewers face. So as you can see drone videos can be amazing but you have to use them in the right amount, sometimes too many drone shots can be overkill and a lot of the shots needed are up close and personal. Using a drone establishing shot for any video project is a great way to start but ensure that the main bulk of the project isn’t purely drone.
